I’m proud to be an A-Mary-CAN; especially, during these challenging times…CAN reminds me to Commit, Act, Now. Regarding the pandemic there are a number of things that we all CAN do including masking, getting vaccinated, & social distancing.
Keeping that in mind, I got a good supply of masks & received my initial Moderna vaccinations as soon as it was available. This week I was able to get a booster & I’m glad to report no side affects after any of the shots.
Recently, after experiencing a stroke, a dear friend wasn’t able to be transported to a hospital to receive the desired care because there weren’t any beds available. Unfortunately, a key factor was the number of beds being occupied by those who have chosen not to be vaccinated.
Another friend had a surgery indefinitely postponed due to the fact that in case something went wrong there weren’t any ICU beds available. Again, due to the number of unvaccinated patients occupying so many beds.
These are just a couple of scenarios that have hit “close to home” for me & remind me:
our freedom ends when it impacts others health & quality of life.
Take care…
