Wonderful Opportunities for enlightenment
My morning routine includes indulging in a cup of hot chocolate as I review information on my computer. I use a clear measuring cup so that I know how long it will take to heat it in the micro wave. This allows me to finish my morning exercises in front of the microwave while I watch for bubbles.
I hope your holidays were as “fun”derful as mine…As I look forward to wrapping up this special season with Epiphany, I anticipate experiencing numerous epiphanies in the year ahead as I strive to live fully.
During the holiday season, the most frequent response to “How are you?” seems to be “I’m so busy.” I just read an article that stated 31% of individuals questioned consider the holidays to be “frantic.” With that in mind, if you’re into making lists like I am, I encourage you to put self-care at the top of your list.

Recently, as I approached the check-out lane hugging my carton of Haagen Dazs Ice Cream with a grapefruit on top, the lady in front of me invited me to go ahead of her since I only had 2 items. I jokingly said, this was the new grapefruit diet. She laughingly said she could ”buy” into that. Then she turned to the checker & requested that he add my 2 items onto her bill. Turns out we both put smiles on each others faces.
I have 2 sheep sitting on my alarm clock- they are there to remind me that if I count my blessings, I won’t need to count sheep to get to sleep. Plus, they remind me of the “Good Shepherd” & how he’s watching out for me- he’ll be up all night so I don’t have to be.
One of the greatest blessings that evolved from my acoustic neuroma tumor is how I shifted my focus to what I CAN do. Thus, I like to CANnvert words inserting an “A” for an “o” to nurture a more positive perspective. CANtentment is a word that comes to mind as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving; especially, as we recognize that CANtentment is knowing how to enjoy what we have. This fall I was fortunate to have the opportunity to venture to Italy. After being hit by an SUV last year when I was biking(more in another blog), I called it my “65 & Glad to Be Alive” tour.
When traveling, I enjoy touring around the back roads & staying at agriturismos(farm B&Bs) so as to more fully experience what’s touted as a healthy Mediterranean lifestyle. Fortunate for me, I now have my faithful GPS companion James.
