Why worry?

Yesterday morning I called my insurance company for an update regarding the settlement check that I was expecting to be deposited in my account based on information that my representative had shared. I was very di$appointed to discover that there would be no settlement check after all.

Thus, my mind was whirling in terms of this financial impact as I headed to my car to go to work. I found myself crunching numbers regarding my budget & yes, worrying…

Then, I saw these unexpected messengers on the sidewalk in front of me …

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  26 Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap orgather into barns—and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?…

…moving right along…

Trust me…

This past week I had the pleasure of hanging out with cute little Sammy & her big “brother’ Scooby. I find myself assuring Sammy when I pick her up or guide her on her leash saying, “trust me.”

Recently, our pastor’s sermon was “Jesus continues to speak”. It dawned on me that Jesus has been trying to communicate the same message to me as I continue striving to live fully while facing some unanticipated challenges. I may be deaf in the one ear; however, I have tuned in to hear that comforting reminder, “trust me”.

I got a new coin purse as a practical souvenir this fall when I was in Italy.  While transferring my donor card from the old to the new, I couldn’t help but smile upon reflecting back to one afternoon when I was at my son’s football practice.   Continue reading “…moving right along…”

…never say never…

…I know that one is never suppose to say never; however, never regret anything that put a smile on your face and/or that of another person…

Recently, as I approached the check-out lane hugging my carton of Haagen Dazs Ice Cream with a grapefruit on top, the lady in front of me invited me to go ahead of her since I only had 2 items.  I jokingly said, this was the new grapefruit diet.   She laughingly said she could ”buy” into that.  Then she turned to the checker & requested that he add my 2 items onto her bill.  Turns out we both put smiles on each others faces.

No turning back…

This fall I was fortunate to have the opportunity to venture to Italy.  After being hit by an SUV last year when I was biking(more in another blog), I called it my “65 & Glad to Be Alive” tour.

When traveling, I enjoy touring around the back roads & staying at agriturismos(farm B&Bs) so as to more fully experience what’s touted as a healthy Mediterranean lifestyle.  Fortunate for me, I now have my faithful GPS companion James.
