Change is the Mystery of Life Unfolding…

This past week as I had my taxes done, I was reminded of the fact that 2 things we can count on in life are death & taxes. I’d like to add change to this list. My philosophy is always expect change unless you use a credit card.

When I was reviewing information on my computer this morning, I saw the word challenge next to change & realized that if one removes the “LLE” from challenge, change emerges. It made me think that I just might need to remove some “stuff” in my life to allow for change to emerge. Thus, to remind me that change is an ongoing process I created an acronym for “LLE”: Lifelong Learning Experiences.

After all, life should be enjoyable & interesting- not stagnant. Welcome changes as a necessary ingredient for a fulfilling life. These new experiences broaden our horizons & open doors often causing a shift in our attitudes as well as what(who) is truly important to us. Mohammed Ali recognized this with his statement, “The man who views the world at 50, the same as he did at 20 has just wasted 30 years of his life.” In turn, this reminds me that even though change is inevitable, growth is optional.

As I strive to embrace change with grace & gratitude, I have come to realize that when I’m feeling courageous I see change as a challenge, when I’m feeling creative I see change as an opportunity, and when I’m feeling intimidated by change it seems formidable. How about you?

No matter how your life unfolds, follow your heart & leave dignity in your wake…
