I’m glad to say that I’ve filed my taxes for 2019. The questionnaire that I filled out prior to meeting with the tax preparer included the above questions. I admit, I was in the mode of checking “no” so much that I almost stopped reading the questions.
Then I came to the one, ” Have you had any debts forgiven or cancelled in 2019?” I felt like I should respond with a “yes” as the words of the Lord’s prayer came to mind. “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors”…
I decided for tax reasons, I better respond with a “no”; however, as I waited to meet with Josh, I couldn’t help but think in terms of if/how I was practicing “freegiveness.” I created this word to remind me to forgive freely along with being a grateful recipient. In turn, I realize that I will experience a freeing sensation from guilt and/or victimization.
Whatever the circumstances, I know that I need to value the lesson learned via these experiences. One of the greatest lessons I have earned is that whatever we give our energy to, we empower. Therefore, I can only be free to be me if I practice “freegiveness”…
…may it be so….
