At 69, I have come to believe that gratitude is a virtue where we recognize how fortunate and/or blessed we are no matter how our life experiences unfold. Recently, I put this philosophy to the test…
I was working on organizing a client’s garage trying to position the shelving to accommodate various items. I found myself on my back inside the cabinet so I could bump up a new shelf that was lodged. As I bumped the one side up, it came crashing down on me, glazing my cheek & knocking my glasses before it came to rest.
First, I checked for blood- only a little scratch on my chin. Then, I rearranged my glasses & scooted out only to discover that my phone had slipped out of the vest pocket I had unzipped to pull out my measuring tape. Bummer!!! the screen was broken. Well, at least my glasses, my jaw, and no teeth were broken. Here I was, counting my blessings even though it was going to cost me to work that day.
Not being very technologically savvy, getting a new phone can seem somewhat daunting. Nonetheless, I did luck out with my phone scenario. I happened to “time” it when the phone company was running a promotion so I was able to trade my older functioning i7 phone in for a new i13- no, they didn’t want my “mashed” i11.
A real plus of this phone is that it has a better camera which I already appreciated on my latest trip to Italy. I guess one might say “that’s the silver lining to the cloud”…
BTW: Turns out the shelf I was trying to adjust needed to be trimmed because it wasn’t cut properly…Also, it was significantly heavier because it was 1/4′” thicker than it should’ve been…
