Today, I was fortunate to go for a picnic snowshoe. When I arrived at the trailhead, I pulled out the case where I envisioned my National Parks pass would be. I flipped through the contents & didn’t see it so I resorted to pulling out things from my glove comparment, then the center compartment, the visors, and then back to the little case. As you can imagine by then I was very frustrated; especially, since I pride myself in being organized.
As I set the case down to grab a piece of paper & pen to write a note to leave on my dash it fell to the floor. When I picked it up, there was my pass in the ouside pocket. All I had needed to do was flip it over…So often in life we need to examine the flip side of a scenario, possibly put ourselves in another person’s shoes…
This scenario reminded me that even though we are currently facing challenging times where so many things are out of our control, there’s a flip side…How about if we all focus on what we CAN do- for me, CAN is an acronym for commit, act now. We can practice healthy habits such as social distancing, proper handwashing, maintaining good nutrition, being physically active, managing stress and getting adequate sleep. Plus, we can also CANtribute by doing little things like checking on elderly neighbors or making donations to charities.
Care to join me…
