Yesterday after looking at my full calendar I realized that if I was going to venture up to the Uintas to one of my favorite places before August, I better pack up and go. Besides it was such a beautiful day. My “joy”ney included a stretch on the Mirror Lake scenic byway. As the foliage thickened by the road, I opted to slow down & watch for deer that might jump out in front of me.
Well, as they say, “Don’t drive any faster than your guardian angel can fly.” Fortunately, because I was watching for deer, I noticed a tree that cracked & was falling across the road in front of me. Defintiely, took my breath away.
I decided to turn around & park by the road so I could take a picture. By then the person approaching from the other direction had pulled out a strap that he wrapped around the tree & attached to the front of his Jeep. Shortly, the main trunk was off to the side of the road while the rest of us cleared the branches.

Thus, I went on my “Mary” way & enjoyed my picnic by the river where I pondered my good fortune along with this quote attributed to Picasso, “Don’t put off for tomorrow anything that you don’t want to die left undone.”
Back to reality, I guess it’s time to address that honey-do list…
