One New Year, I was so tired of hearing people respond to “how are you?” with a frantic “busy,” that I decided to make a resolution to try to eliminate the word “busy” from my vocabulary. Thus, I started using the 4-letter “f” word “flow.” I believe it has enhanced my quality of life. I realize that at 73 my priorities have shifted; however, my days remain full(another one of those 4-letter “f” words) with family, friends, & other commitments.
I enjoy going up to the nearby Uinta mountains to get a dose of eco-therapy. If I’m fortunate enough to dine by a body of water, I experience a sense of flow. I often do a bit of writing as words seem to flow more fluidly in such a scenario.
Hopefully, you’ve had the experience of getting totally lost in work or activities that you enjoy so much you lose track of time. These are usually our most productive times. The state of flow can be like a superpower for our personal fulfillment and progress. It’s like how flowing water creates positive energy.
Bt the end o f the day if one has been able to create & experience flow, I believe you will go to bed feeling fulfilled vs just weary…And who doesn’t want that?
